Lawrence Cyan was a Rose Ribbon Army operative from Greene’s past. The Army sacrificed him to its experiments, and Shenlong’s wish brought him back.
History
At Fortuneteller Yaba’s palace, Greene had to fight someone from his past. His opponent was Lawrence Cyan, who was on a one-day pass back to the land of the living.
In Dr. Gero’s notes beneath Grimscale Tower, the Cacklers read that several color-coded operatives, Cyan, Scarlet and Indigo among them, had been “forcibly relieved of their organic life” as unsuccessful donors for project Cyborg and “refitted for other constructions.” After the party took a crystal power source from the Army’s dragon-control machine, Oolong came to a grim conclusion: Cyan had always been meant to be a contributor, and the crystal had only been an excuse for the Army to eliminate him.
When Shenlong revived everyone the Rose Ribbon Army had killed, Cyan lived again. Greene, shaken, told him, “I suspected for a while that I signed up for more than I bargained for, but I thought a good person could change things.”
