Quick facts
Campaign: Campaign 2 · Session: 24 of 83 · Arc: Curses, Sewers, and the Closing Ceremonies · Where: Saline Coast Sewers
The descent into the Saline Coast Sewers turned dangerous fast when a black pudding, camouflaged against the filth-covered walls, ambushed the party. After that they moved with caution and a fair amount of disgust, wary of pulling random levers and trying not to touch the poop-smeared walls.
Then a massive swarm of scarabs poured out of the shadows and engulfed Nelda, leaving her unconscious and close to death. The rest of the group scrambled to save her. Kip managed some healing, but she was still slipping away.
As Nelda lay dying, the Squeebles doll on her chest began to glow with green energy, and she found herself in a liminal space face to face with Squeebles’ spirit. He told her she had a choice: she could return to the living, or he could take her place. Torn but determined, Nelda chose to live. After a heartfelt goodbye, Squeebles faded away. Nelda woke gasping as her friends revived her, the now lifeless Squeebles doll lying on her chest.
