Quick facts
Role: Assassin · Affiliation: Rose Ribbon Army · Family: Master Crane (brother) · Status: Unknown (last seen mid-Campaign 1)
Mercenary Tao is a Rose Ribbon Army assassin and the brother of Master Crane. He killed Ashryn and nearly killed Greene.
History
In Beerlia, as the party freed the Crew of the Rootbeer Float from the port jail, local soldiers ambushed them. In the chaos an assassin leapt from a roof and drove a poisoned blade into Ashryn’s back, killing her in front of the party. He escaped inland.
In North City, on the night of the tournament’s opening ceremony, an assassin attacked Greene in his bed and almost took his life. Greene survived, called his friends, and chased the man through the streets until Elyon ran him down. He was the same assassin who had killed Ashryn, and he turned out to be Mercenary Tao, Master Crane’s brother.
Ashryn was later restored by Shenlong’s wish to revive everyone the Rose Ribbon Army had killed.
