Quick facts

Full name: Elyon Wyncarron · Party: The Cacklers · Teachers: Master Crane (former), Master Korrin · Mount: Flying Nimbus · Family: Ashryn (sister) · Status: Alive (as of C2 Session 83)

Elyon Wyncarron is a founding member of The Cacklers and the champion of the Greatest Below the Heavens tournament. She rides the Flying Nimbus, trained under Master Korrin, and is the Cackler most likely to ask whether the group has become the thing it’s fighting.

Overview

The Ox-Queen summoned Elyon for her latent talent, shortly after Meo, the Thorned Rose, killed her mother and kidnapped her father, Kellam. She is a spellcaster who also trained in martial arts; her Kienzan won her the tournament. She has a fiery temper when crossed and an awkward, curious streak, and on the wedding day she was caught studying people’s butts to work out why anyone likes them.

History

Campaign 1

Early travels. Master Toshi gave Elyon the Flying Nimbus and talked with her about self-confidence and his old master, Korrin. At Fortuneteller Yaba’s palace she fought her own sister, Ashryn. At Cherudo Beach she checked out the book that pointed the party to the Toasty Temple.

Beerlia. Elyon came through the portal last and found Juliette eating strawberries out of Meo’s hand. In PoorsTown’s time loop she was the only Cackler who kept her memories from loop to loop, and she worked out how to stop Goku without any children dying. When Ashryn turned up as a deserter offering a ship, the sisters traded hard words and began to make amends, but an assassin killed Ashryn in front of the party. Elyon later ran that assassin, Mercenary Tao, down in the streets of North City.

Elyon flew the banished Joey to Takkoh on her Nimbus. At the inn there she overheard her former teacher Master Crane talking about the coming tournament.

Korrin’s Tower. With Greene, Elyon crossed the Tabasco Forest and climbed Korrin’s Tower, where she trained with Master Korrin. Korrin gave her and her friends permission to fight in the tournament as his pupils and warned her that the Collector was more ruthless than he let on, and his own half-brother.

Champion. In North City, Elyon learned that Meo was the Thorned Rose and that Juliette had been on the job that killed her mother, which caused a rift between them. Elyon beat Greene in the tournament final, catching his last pole-vault strike and sending him out of the stadium with a Kienzan. When she went to the Collector’s collection to claim her prize, she found Oolong fighting an automaton beside the Star Orb, and sat in on the deal that let Oolong go free in exchange for the vase holding King Piccolo.

Revenge on Meo. In Emperor Pilaf’s castle, the party found Meo in a cell. After he told them how Piccolo got loose, Elyon threw a fireball bead from her necklace into his cell and burned him to death.

North City and Rice Town. Against the Collector, her magic failed again and again. Against his Cybermen and Dalek, she banished the Dalek out of the room. A botched teleport sent her to Gingertown before she made it back to North City in time to see an adult black dragon land on the walls. In Grimscale Tower she carved the dome automaton “13” with a saw of radiant energy, and High Sorcerer Cobalt stole her ring of elemental command and her wand of wonder. Her Chain Lightning hit the dragon-control machine and set it sparking before she went down to the moonstone dragon.

Cherudo and Raviki. Elyon was let into Cherudo while the men were turned away. When Oolong hid in Greene’s pants as a mouse, Elyon shouted “Firebolt” and hit Greene’s pants. The party found a local librarian, who confirmed the Manual of Quickness and Action was locked in Raviki’s vault. After the magician Davvers died at Oolong’s hands, Elyon used Mold Earth to uncover his withered body and turned on the party: “You killed him.” She asked whether killing innocent people “just make[s] us the Rose Ribbon Army.” During the heist she gave the party away on a creaky stair, then set Raviki on fire with a fireball as the others escaped. She talked Raviki’s assistant Karita into exposing Raviki’s treason, and Karita thanked her: “Thank you for changing my life, Elyon. I will never forget you.”

The sea hag. Without telling the others, Elyon made her own deal with the sea hag in exchange for her mother being brought back to life.

Endgame. Elyon gave Terra and Sophie a magical book as a wedding present. After Shenlong’s wish, Oolong left her the Muffin Button with a note: “The hero who taught me flying is not just for birds.” Ashryn, alive again, sent word asking whether Elyon was okay and saying she was sorry. Elyon answered, “She better be sorry. Little bitch. Tell me she said sorry.” She cried and flew off on her Nimbus, which brushed against her leg like a cat.

Campaign 1.5

At The Cell Games, Jimmy Firecracker introduced Elyon as the champion of the Greatest Below the Heavens tournament, “the soaring sorceress of Spicetown.” She fought from high in the air. After Terra cut Perfect Cell down and his body began to heal itself, Elyon threw a kienzan into the remains. It darted back and forth across the ground, carving up every atom of Cell’s existence, and he never came back. She was one of the four left standing (C1.5 Chapter 03).

Campaign 2

During the Ozaroo rampage in North City, a golden cloud carried Elyon into the middle of the battlefield (Session 66). When the assassin Scorch attacked Bulma Briefs at the Cackler Barrel, Elyon used a magical staff to get through the tavern’s walls so the Cacklers could join the fight (Session 67). She was one of the four left standing when Perfect Cell was declared defeated at The Cell Games (Session 70).
