Remembered in stories
- Master Mutatio: Master Toshi’s master. Long ago he sealed King Piccolo in a magical container with the Mafuba and died doing it.
- The sorceress of Fire Mountain: Put the fire curse on The Ox-Queen’s mountain. She was affiliated with the Rose Ribbon Army. Never named.
The road to Yaba’s palace
- Bip: A goblin, the last of a group the party fought. They captured him, and he took them to his boss.
- Karl: The goblin boss. The party found themselves outnumbered, so Greene gave Karl his Medallion of Luck and they went on their way.
- The Dryad: Met Greene in the woods and told him the medallion’s curse of luck was still on him, and that the only way to lift it was to return the medallion to its rightful resting place.
The Toasty Temple
- Nick Nack: An ettin, one of many dangers the party faced on the way through the Toasty Temple.
Beerlia
- Him (Cassie): Leader of the yeerks in Ostenkask. Greene was brought before Him and infested by Visser 3. The party later confronted Him in a sea cave, and Greene destroyed Him.
- Rachel: Second in command of the Island Watch. Killed by the yeerk-controlled Greene.
- Miss Perigree: Put a time loop around PoorsTown on Tappin’ Day to protect the town’s children from Goku, who turned into a giant ape at every eclipse. The party broke the loop by stopping Goku without any child dying.
Takkoh and the Ranchinian Peninsula
- The rabbitfolk guide: Led Greene and Elyon through the forests of Tabasco to Korrin’s Tower and was killed when an adult black dragon ambushed them there.
Buttermilk
- The mermaid: Offered Terra Misu Umber, Oolong and Juliette a back way into the old temple under Buttermilk. In exchange, Juliette promised to carry a crystal apple to the mermaid’s sister off the coast of Toasty. The apple turned out to be a trap for Princess Athena.
- The water genasi: Four genasi who attacked the sunken Rose Ribbon battleship. They fought beside the trio against an aboleth and its sea creature and were all killed.
North City
- Kirby the Dreamwarrior: A large pink blob of a monster from the FeyWild who could steal and mimic powers. The party’s first-round opponent at the tournament. See also Bestiary.
- The two investigators: Questioned Oolong at a bar about a missing breastplate that turned up at the tournament and a “big large black bird.”
- Bulma’s ex-boyfriend: Bulma’s capsule dropped the party into his living space, where she called him an “unbelievable asshole.” The second time it dropped them into his dark bedroom, he tried to stall them while whispering to a Rose Ribbon patrol on a sending stone. Greene killed him.
- Walter: The 73-year-old owner of Walter’s Watch Warehouse. Oolong scared him into a heart attack, then stabbed him to make sure he could steal a prized bow.
- The North City Times reporter: Published the Collector’s wanted ad for Emerald, then believed Oolong (disguised as the Collector) that she had been “taken care of,” because he didn’t want the Collector to “slit my throat.” The paper’s owner sold the North City Times to a shell corporation soon after.
- The mysterious man: Fought alongside The Collector, Amethyst and the enslaved Terra in the final showdown. Never identified.
- Omar: Proprietor of Omar’s shop of curiosities. When he refused to “hold my ferret,” Oolong threw the ferret at him and polymorphed it into a giant rhino mid-air, then got a “wonderful deal” on a Ring of Shooting Stars.
- Canidoth: An adult black dragon that landed on the walls of the Coliseum as the Rose Ribbon Army announced its occupation of North City.
- Jimmy Firecracker: A reporter who broadcast the chaos of the invasion and declared the Cacklers had saved the city. He called Greene’s rallying cry “very poignant, very straight to the point.” Twenty years later he called The Cell Games live on the radio, introducing each of the Cacklers, because “Jimmy Firecracker don’t give a fuck! He’ll take any job!” (C1.5 Chapter 03)
- The captured soldier: A Rose Ribbon soldier on the bomb ship during the naval battle. He admitted his job was to “keep you here as long as possible” and revealed the plan to siege, attack and starve North City.
- The invisible mage: Counterspelled the healing meant for Captain Barqs during the naval battle, letting Barqs die. Described as “a traitor.”
- Jasmine: A dwarf working the third shift at Omar’s shop who hated her job. She agreed to help Oolong rob the place for “50 gold and 50 silver” and the excitement. Oolong polymorphed her into a rhinoceros to wreck the shop. Oolong told her, “I always had a thing for dwarfs.”
- Carl: The jewelry-section creep at Omar’s shop, the original target of the heist plan.
- Dr. Willow: A researcher whose work Oolong tracked down in the North City library while searching for Terra.
Scotch on the Rocks
- The bartender: A terrified bartender at a tavern whom Greene and Terra strong-armed before walking into ten Rose Ribbon soldiers.
- Greylock: Usurped Captain Barqs, then was himself imprisoned by Ibeesee.
- Harry, Marge, Rumti and Satchel: Members of the Crew of the Rootbeer Float, left beaten and unresponsive after the ship crashed in Rice Town. Satchel was still around twenty years later, hard of hearing because he’d “been in explosions and stuff.” He met Belle Pepper, and when Perfect Cell came on the radio he chanted, “Please be leaving the planet forever.” (C1.5 Chapter 01, C1.5 Chapter 02)
- The well-decorated Rose Ribbon soldier: Was with Ibeesee and Joey in the Silent Vaults.
- The half-orc: Barreled through the Silent Vaults’ front gate to tackle a Rose Ribbon soldier and was stabbed repeatedly by the others.
Rice Town
- Harlequin: A Rose Ribbon Inquisitor who stole the Brumestone core aboard the Rootbeer Float and dimension-doored away. Oolong later tried to polymorph the soldier holding the core and turned them into a rat, which the wind blew off the ship.
- The lone guard: Spotted Juliette on the stairs of Grimscale Tower (“Hey, you’re the one. You’re one of them cacklers, aren’t you?”). Greene killed him.
The skies over Arlia
-
The infernal tiger: A large bipedal tiger in armor who boarded the Rootbeer Float and asked, “Are you the captain of this vessel?” He would not answer the party’s questions, and they killed him immediately. Juliette noted his energy was eerily like the demon energy they had met in Parmesan Diego.
-
The portal creatures: A winged boar, a horned giant and swarms of small flying things that came through a portal device hidden in the ship’s cargo hold. Beyond the portal, Juliette saw a red realm of lava and a thirty-foot fire giant.
-
The dark dragon: Attacked the airship on the way to the Toasty Desert, claiming it was full of great wealth. The party offered it rice. Greene turned it to ash.
-
The deckhand: A deckhand on the Rootbeer Float whom the invisible Elyon startled. “Who said that? Is that you? Who? Who? Is that who? My ex-wife. Clara. You already took the kids. What more do you want?”
Toasty and the mermaid kingdom
- Princess Athena: A mermaid princess, taken three years earlier and presumed dead. When the Cacklers delivered the crystal apple, she touched it and was sucked inside. The party later won her back from a sea hag.
- King Triton: Athena’s father, ruler of the mermaid kingdom. He gave the Cacklers a choice: bring back his daughter or fight right there. In return for her rescue, he pledged aid against “the land walkers in the east.”
- The Queen: Athena’s mother.
- The sea hag: A “creature of nightmares” with algae-colored skin, waiting in a chamber beyond the old temple on the Ranchinian Peninsula. She knew Greene was made from the “cells of many.” She traded Oolong a boost to his intellect for a contract, and traded Greene the princess and the removal of the party’s were-transformation for one of his hairs, on the condition that it never be used to help the Rose Ribbon Army. Elyon made a secret trade with her to have her mother revived.
Cherudo Beach
- The guards: Cherudo Beach guards turned away Greene and Oolong for being “Voe” (men).
- The librarian: The local librarian who confirmed the Manual of Quickness and Action was locked in Raviki’s vault. Not to be confused with Elyon, whom the party found at the same time.
- David the Amazing Davvers: A street magician outside the city gate. Oolong had him draw from the Deck of Many Things, and Davvers was left a “shell of what he was before.” Someone in the party then finished him off, and Elyon later dug up his body and confronted them.
- Karita: Raviki’s assistant. The Cacklers knocked her down during the heist, then convinced her to become a local hero by claiming she broke in because she suspected Raviki of treason. “Thank you for changing my life, Elyon. I will never forget you.”
- Sergeant Saffron: The Rose Ribbon officer negotiating with Raviki for Cherudo Beach.
- Androids six and seven: Amber-colored androids made of sewn-together body parts guarding Raviki’s vault. One exploded after Oolong confused it.
Pets and companions
- Muffin: Oolong’s owl. Oolong once polymorphed it into a T-rex. It dropped its business into King Piccolo’s mouth during the final fight. Juliette later killed it by accident with an eldritch blast: “I wasn’t trying to kill it. I was just trying to.”
- The ferret: Oolong’s ferret, briefly a giant rhino.
Family members
- Elyon’s mother: Killed by the Thorned Rose.
- Kellam: Elyon’s father, kidnapped in the same attack.
- Terra’s father: Showed up at Terra and Sophie’s wedding to congratulate Terra. The exchange quickly turned to old grievances over what Sophie had been put through.
- Sophie’s father: Terra sent the traumatized Sophie to stay with him for safety after the fight with Piccolo.
