Ibeesee is a goblin woman of Scotch on the Rocks, mother of Joey and “baby mama” of Captain Barqs. Her story is one of the saddest in Campaign 1.
History
The first heist
When the Cacklers first landed on Scotch on the Rocks, they met Ibeesee and then decided to rob her. Her vault in the Silent Vaults held the Brumestone core, which the party stole into a portable hole. Oolong also found the Muffin Button in her vault.
Taking the Rootbeer Float
Later, after the Collector fell, Barqs told Oolong he was in a cell. Greylock had usurped Barqs as captain, and Ibeesee had imprisoned them both and handed the Rootbeer Float over to Captain Rootbeard. The Cacklers fought their way through her casino, tore apart her room (finding little but papers), and freed Barqs and his crew from the cellar. They worked out that she was giving the ship to the Rose Ribbon Army in a hostage exchange for her son, Joey.
The Silent Vaults
The Cacklers followed her to the Silent Vaults. Past the riddle door, they found Joey, Ibeesee, and a well-decorated Rose Ribbon soldier. Her eyes were “black as night,” and she was clearly not in control of herself. She ignored Greene’s threat to hurt Joey and cast circle of death, and Joey fell dead. She then turned on the Cacklers and struck down Terra Misu Umber.
While Barqs worked to revive Terra, Ibeesee came out of the trance and realized what she had done: “You killed Joey.” She blamed Barqs for letting Joey fall into the Army’s hands, and then, utterly broken, cast circle of death again, taking herself down with it.
