The Rootbeer Float is the pirate ship Oolong sailed on before he was captured, and the Cacklers’ ship for most of Campaign 1.
History
The ship’s crew was imprisoned in Beerlia after Joey, Barqs’s son, made a deal to hand the ship to the Rose Ribbon Army. The Cacklers freed the crew, boarded the Rootbeer Float, and sailed for Scotch on the Rocks. The crew tried Joey on deck for treason and mutiny and banished him (C1 Chapter 04). The ship carried the party on through the Ranchinian Peninsula, North City, and West City.
While the Cacklers were fugitives, Ibeesee imprisoned Barqs and the usurper Greylock and handed the ship to Captain Rootbeard (C1 Chapter 08). In the Silent Vaults the party found a bottled model ship that looked like the Rootbeer Float (C1 Chapter 09).
During the harbor battle at North City, the unsteered ship began rising into the sky (C1 Chapter 10), and from then on the Cacklers sailed the skies. The Brumestone core kept it aloft. When Rose Ribbon soldiers pulled the core loose over Rice Town, the ship fell onto the ice and began to tear itself apart. Barqs’s crew members Harry, Marge, Rumti, and Satchel were badly hurt in the crash. Barqs partly repaired the ship and picked the party up (C1 Chapter 12).
At the end of the campaign, Greene took the helm and set sail toward North City (C1 Chapter 14).
