Quick facts
Type: Shrinking prison device · Maker: Coghaven · Used by: Velvet Truffle Company agents · Marked with: The Coghaven cog
Detention orbs are devices that shrink a target and imprison them inside. They are made in Coghaven and supplied to the Velvet Truffle Company, whose agents use them on prisoners.
How they work
The orbs bear the Coghaven cog. They run on a timer and release their prisoner when it runs out. Forcing one open early would be dangerous.
History
- The Valedriss estate (Session 81): When Catman tried to grapple the gnoll agent Daask Bruiser, Daask trapped him in a shrinking detention orb and pocketed it. From inside, Catman watched Thalorian Valedriss die.
- The gallows (Session 83): After the FAM freed Catman, Daask slammed another orb into him and trapped him again. Masha wrenched the orb from Daask’s grip with a mage hand. Wilbur examined it and found the Coghaven cog and the timer. Catman should be released on his own soon.
