The Silent Vaults are a heavily secured set of vaults just off the shore of Scotch on the Rocks, on a rock with a perch the Cacklers reached by Power Pole and eagle. The island’s elite keep their valuables there, and the Cacklers robbed them twice in Campaign 1.
History
The first robbery
The Cacklers went after the Brumestone core kept in Ibeesee’s vault (C1 Chapter 04). They killed many guards, many of them beheaded by Terra Misu Umber, solved a puzzle fit for an elementary school, and fought a shadow, a gelatinous cube and the rest of the security. Juliette’s new portable hole carried the core out. In Ibeesee’s vault Oolong also found the Muffin Button.
The return
After the Cacklers wrecked Ibeesee’s Casino, they marched on the Vaults, where Rose Ribbon forces guarded the outside (C1 Chapter 09). Goku led a diversion and fired a kamehameha into the front wall. Greene vaulted up to the rock on the Power Pole, Tala turned into a giant eagle and carried Juliette and Oolong, and Captain Barqs and Terra teleported up.
Inside, a door that remembered them read, “You guys thought we would do the same puzzle as last time.” It opened only to the “Interrupting cow” knock-knock joke. Terra destroyed another gelatinous cube with an uppercut. At the end they found Joey, Ibeesee and a well-decorated Rose Ribbon soldier. Ibeesee, not in control of herself, cast circle of death and killed Joey, then came out of the trance and killed herself with the same spell.
In the lockers the party found bottled model ships, among them one that looked like the Rootbeer Float, the Nightfall’s Rest and the Wicked Temptress. When Juliette picked one more lock, a cork shot across the room and the tiny ship inside grew to full size, smashing through the lockers. Outside, a half-orc charged the front gate and was stabbed by Rose Ribbon soldiers, and Goku, Reese and Sophie were left unconscious.
