Quick facts

Campaign: Campaign 2 · Session: 52 of 83 · Arc: Green Hollow and the Cult of Brandoboris · Where: Green Hollow; the Temple of Cyrollellee

Kip lay motionless, with no pulse and no breath, while the party fought Sawyer and his halfling cultists in the tavern. Ellery managed to grapple the cult leader. Just as the party seemed to be winning, time glitched. Ellery suddenly found herself holding nothing but a severed, bloody left hand. Escher and Nelda watched their own foes vanish the same way. When reality settled, the enemies were gone, and all that remained where they had stood were severed bloody left hands.

Searching upstairs, the group found Alana unconscious on the floor and discovered that Kip had been taken. All he left behind was a glove holding some mysterious purple leaves. When Alana woke, she revealed the dark truth behind her family. Her father had fallen away from the goddess Cyrollellee to worship Brandoboris, the halfling god of trickery and mayhem. Sawyer had been growing Ghostpetal Turnipbloom, a rare toxic plant, on a hidden parcel of the family farm to sell to a buyer in Brinewick Hollow. Alana also explained the magical marriage contract, insisting she had been as much a pawn in her father’s schemes as Kip was.

Following Alana’s information, the party went to the ruins of the old Temple of Cyrollellee, which the cult had corrupted into a gathering place. Outside the ruins they were ambushed by a corpse flower, a huge plant creature made of decaying remains. Wilbur, Escher, and Ellery used fire and coordinated strikes to destroy it, and the party entered the temple. They made it past a hallway rigged with a pit trap to a set of locked doors, which Escher opened.

Deeper in, a giant ruin spider jumped them. Nelda and Ellery fought it in a cramped hallway, battering it with thunderous magic and martial strikes. Nelda finished it with a powerful blow from her glaive that split its head, and tiny spiders skittered out of the remains.
