Quick facts
Type: Rare toxic plant · Grown by: Sawyer Elmheart · Trade route: Green Hollow → Judge Marius Vellum → Velvet Truffle Company
Ghostpetal Turnipbloom, or “ghost petals,” is a rare, toxic purple-leaved plant. It puts its victim into a false death that cannot be told apart from the real thing.
Effects
Escher’s handler Lint identified it as a rare contact toxin that induces a 48-hour state of false death indistinguishable from a true passing (Session 55). When Kip was dosed, he had no pulse or breath, and magical healing had no effect (Session 51). Kip’s father, Broul, was believed dead for more than ten days before being found alive.
History
Sawyer grew the plant on a sequestered parcel of his family farm and sold it to a buyer in Brinewick Hollow (Session 52). After Kip was carried off, he left behind a glove holding purple leaves; the party later found crates of the same leaves in the Temple of Cyrollellee, bound for Judge Vellum (Session 53). Sawyer’s office held a ledger of shipments (Session 55). The party used a staged shipment, in cabbage crates, to lure Vellum to his death. As they finished, The Gnoloo swooped down and flew off with the whole wagon of ghost petals (Session 56).
