Quick facts

Race: Saiyan · Relationship: Ellery’s best friend, now her partner · Status: Alive; travels with The FAM (as of C2 Session 83)

Cabba is a Saiyan warrior and Ellery’s best friend. He was captured by the Velvet Truffle Company and used as a living power source beneath Coghaven until Ellery and the FAM freed him.

History

Cabba was searching a ship for something Prince Vegeta had sent him to find when he was careless and caught. In North City, Kip scried on him with a tunic Ellery provided and saw him floating unconscious in a blue-green stasis tank, wired up and watched by drones (Session 60). Vegeta said Cabba had known of the royal lineage since birth but was sworn to discretion. Ellery confessed to Nelda that she regretted a missed romantic chance with him (Session 69).

In the Underdark, Ellery caught a faint trickle of his energy and saw a vision of him thrashing as shocks forced him still. Kip’s second scrying showed him weaker and thinner. When Ellery sent a message promising she was coming, his head jerked in response (Session 73). Ellery worked out that Coghaven’s machine was running on his energy.

In Dr. Wheelo’s lab, the CabbAutomaton, a mechanical copy of Cabba, used his own moves against Ellery and nearly killed her. Water rushed out of the next room, and the real Cabba, free, struck the machine across the face and told it to step away from her (Session 78). He managed only to ask if she was okay before collapsing. He had torn off his own tail to get free. He told Ellery his captivity had been an endless cycle of exhaustion and pain, that he had begged for death, and that he heard a voice telling him to hold on, which turned out to be her messages (Session 79).

On the airship he told Ellery he needed to find where he belonged, thanked her for everything she had endured to save him, said she made him proud as a Saiyan warrior and apologized for their last meeting. If her feelings were unchanged, she need only say one word. She kissed him. He told her he had never had a moment’s doubt, that he loved her completely, and that he regretted not telling her before he left (Session 80). Wilbur and Nelda then questioned his intentions. He listed his hobbies as fighting, hunting sandworms, sparring, brawling, wrestling and kickboxing, and won them over by saying he had always enjoyed the liveliness of Ellery’s mind (Session 81). At the gallows he ran to Ellery’s side.

The FAM also claimed the CabbAutomaton for themselves.
