In the field, a high-stakes battle broke out as The Whisper demanded the party’s help in killing the Saiyan prince. Ellery engaged Vegeta in a flurry of strikes, boosted by Wilbur’s haste and Kip’s divine bonds, though she insisted she only wanted to knock him out. The Whisper, growing desperate, tried to magically dominate Escher’s mind and failed. After taking a beating from Vegeta’s energy blasts, the mind flayer shifted planes and fled the battlefield entirely. The fight ended brutally when Vegeta unleashed a series of strikes that nearly took Escher down, but the prince finally held back and demanded to talk.
Vegeta revealed that he had spared Ellery and Kale as infants because their guardian, Nappa, had a “soft heart.” He also revealed that Cabba had known about his own royal lineage since birth but had been sworn to secrecy.
Back in the city, Nelda ran into former schoolmates from CAGS, Mia, Joanie, Lynn, and Bryn, who had formed an adventuring group called “Bitch Perfect.” When the party regrouped at Ye Olde Inn, Nelda announced she had set up a meeting with her old rivals to discuss a possible alliance for The Cell Games.
