Bran’s old adventuring party went looking for an artifact that could change fate and lost one of their own doing it. Years later, after The FAM brought her back, they reunited and fought the Velvet Truffle Company so the FAM could escape.

In Session 83 Bran had four old companions with him, so the party had at least one other member whose name is not known.
History
The Obsidian Spire
The party went after an “object that changes fate” at the Obsidian Spire. Fighting the spectral wraith that guarded its heart, Bran and Sylas ended up on opposite sides of a chasm with Elara caught between them. Bran hesitated, and Elara was lost. Sylas blamed Bran for years, and both men loved her. Sylas also suspected Victor of pocketing the artifact.
The FAM’s years
The FAM heard about the old party in Session 21 and learned about the artifact in Session 25. Victor admitted he had it, a small black and purple chest, and gave it to the party (Session 26).
Reunion (Session 83)
The FAM freed Elara from a vat in Coghaven without knowing who she was. When they got back to the Mercenary’s Rest, they found Bran crying into her waist, and Sylas stepped out of a tree in the tavern to embrace her.
When VTC forces surrounded the inn and ordered the Fellowship out, Bran told Wilbur they would buy him time. His four old companions cracked their knuckles, drew magic weapons and walked out the door with him, and the party heard Bran order “you motherfuckers” off his property as the fighting started.
