Captain Eric Stormshield leads the city guard of the Saline Coast. He kept telling The FAM to stay out of police business, and the party never fully trusted him.
History
In Session 4, Stormshield questioned the group about the attempt on Cedric Lightharbor’s life. Wilbur blurted out everything they knew, including the name Tobias Bigsby. Stormshield seemed to believe them and agreed to look into Bigsby, but warned them to leave the matter to the “professionals.”
At the Grand Guard House in Session 6, he told Wilbur the arrest was based on more than his testimony. When Wilbur mentioned someone with the initials “E.R.,” Stormshield grew even more insistent that they drop it and refused to let them see Bigsby. The group left feeling he was covering something up. Orin Coppercoin and Lyla Brightspark were later overheard planning to plant documents for him to find (Session 12).
After the prison break, Stormshield arrested Nelda’s parents for harboring a fugitive (Session 20). He also held a recording of Nelda admitting to the prison break, which Catman took and gave back to her (Session 21). Mayor Eliza Windrider made Wilbur remove an unsupported accusation against Stormshield from his flyers (Session 26).
In Session 29, Nelda confronted him over his past actions. He pulled Wilbur aside, accused him of playing games, and produced a document signed by “The Fellowship Against the Machine” as proof of baseless accusations. Wilbur shot back with a hint about a blemish on Stormshield’s record involving the death of a child, which left Stormshield stunned. Moments later Tobias Blackwood stabbed Wilbur, and Stormshield arrested him.
